Greeting in the Name of our Lord Jesus, whose Greatness is the Basis of our Faith and Victory!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendour and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. ” Psalms 104:1,2 ESV
“You are very great!” are words impregnated with the Psalmist’s admiration of the Greatness of God! I am sure he used more than his mouth to declare God’s greatness. In Psalms 103:1, he blessed God with “all that is within him” which would mean every cell & molecule that formed him. Shouldn’t this be something we should be doing every moment - to declare His GREATNESS!
You have to not just declare God’s greatness, but WALK in His greatness! When you do so, you are gonna to THINK BIG & TALK BIG to the enemy (like David engaging Goliath); to DREAM BIG (like Joseph) and to DO BIG THINGS (like the disciples in Jn 14:12). That means if you know, agree and accept that you have a BIG GOD, you are going to live differently! And if the greatness of God lives in you, there is no fear of any external threats or the most ferocious enemy (1 Jn 4:4)! Amen! It is even more urgent that the warriors of the end times rely fully on God’s greatness to fight & win their battles!
Then the Psalmist gave a dimension of God that is so awesome. Imagine God’s garment is made of light, more than a science fiction or a magician’s illusion. He is literally a walking light. Remind me of the pillar of fire that the Almighty used to guide the Israelites in the wilderness. So when you walk with God, you are walking with light - meaning there will be no darkness - isn’t this mentioned in 1 Jn 1:5, 7 - “ .. that God is light, and in him is no darkness, … but if we walk in the light, … we have fellowship with Him.” Forces of darkness has no place in your journey with Him! There will be clarity of the path ahead (purposes and plans God has for you). There will be revelations. God’s light will also illuminate you, brighten up your your life but at the same time, also reveal your true self. When you walk with God, be prepared to live a transparent life, a life with nothing to hide and is “void of offence towards God and towards men” - Acts 24:16.
“ .. stretching the heaven like a tent …” When God stretches something, He always put it to good use, in this case, the heaven has been a shelter and protection for human life (probably with the ozone layer). Similarly when God stretches us, we become a blessing to others. Imagine a lump of plasticine that can be stretched to be bigger, and into whatever shape we want and some of these can turn out to be awesome art pieces. Lesson 1 - never despise unaaractive material (people) that God can shape them into Masterpieces. Lesson 2 - learn to be “elastic” for God, avail yourself and be ready to be stretched (obey and change) and willing to take the pain and inconveniences (stretching & moulding can be painful). The final outcome will be YOU becoming God’s “tent” He uses to bring deliverance, shelter, protection and blessings to the needy and the captives! Amen!
